Breast cancer can be found throughout history, described as early as 3500 BCE. It sure has seemed to be with me for all of my career.
An ailment of family, friends and patients alike; we take time during the month of October to bring attention to the need to monitor and screen.
During my lifetime I have seen survival statistics improve now to a 95% or better 5 year survival rate with earlier detection, better treatments and more extensive support.
Thank you to everyone working together against this common disease.
Take time today to appreciate the time we have with our family, friends and loved ones; hope for a world that won’t eventually need cancer awareness months as its identification, treatment and eradication become commonplace and mundane.
