PATIENT EDUCATION

Learning about yourself and your disease process can help with its improvement if not resolution.

As healthcare providers, the responsibility falls onto us to walk with our patients to these understandings.

With this education we help them identify possible associated symptoms with their disease process.

Our patients communicate this suspicion and we continue to help them treat to resolution the associated problem or help them navigate to a consultant that can help them.

Patients, Friends and Family associate their symptoms with “getting” older. Many times it is something that can be addressed and is not permanent fixture of their body.

Be an advocate for your own health as well as your family members by asking questions to help you understand what is going on. We, as health care providers, always need our patients help to identify and diagnose their ailments.

With understanding of the problems many disease processes can be avoided or prevented. We are doomed to repeat our diseases if we do not acknowledge the process by which the ailment acted upon us.

In conclusion, education is important with patient treatment as it helps identify diseases for treatment but it also helps with disease prevention not only for the patient but also for the patient’s family and friends they confide in.

Have a beautiful April!
